Discovering Your Passion….Inspiration Source!

It’s Sunday evening of Thanksgiving weekend and I should be either decorating my Christmas Tree or making yet another hot turkey sandwich or pouring over the loot I got at my yearly trip to the mall this weekend or deciding whether or not I will have time to make handmade Christmas cards this year (probably not, but always a nice idea)….or all of the above.

Instead, I have just spent more time than I am comfortable admitting to watching amazing people give extraordinary talks on the creative process on I didn’t think anything could override my turkey tryptophan stupor, but I am feeling renewed and in good company.

I found out about TED Talks reading “Where’d You Go, Bernadette” by Maria Semple.

By Maria Semple

At first I wasn’t sure if she was making this idea up…genius people from all over the globe giving talks about anything from creative inspiration to global warming. Having just listened to Elizabeth Gilbert ( “Eat, Pray, Love”) talking about “genius” and on to Tim Brown of Ideo talking about the importance of “play” in creative solutions, I am here to say, it’s real. Ok, I may be the last gal in town who has plugged in to this resource…after all, I am still the only person I know who has no apps on her phone, but I am here to be counted and amazed!

If you have an idea, hope, wish, dream, thought, project, new life plan, course correction or just a nagging thought of something you have always wanted to do, but thought impossible….go to this site and spend some time with your fellow co-creators…you will be encouraged and inspired.

Just to get you started, here is the link for Elizabeth Gilbert.
